Hey @seyitaylor @ChikaUwazie, I’d love to be a part of the group please.

My facebook name is Komolafe Tolulope

Oh, that’s nice. Hope to see you at the next one

@SeyiTaylor can you add me to the group please?

I feel your concern @sugabelly, however, this low count of women-in-tech isn’t perculiar to Nigeria and doesn’t have anything to do with our “unwelcoming atmosphere”. Even in the US & EU, women-in-tech are very few too not to mention women entrepreneurs.

The focus should be in educating women to change their mindset of dependency and begin to exert their independence from a young age, at least, while they are still single. This is the mindset of the Japanese, where their young and single ladies are known to be as equally hardworking and assertive as their male counterparts, however, due to their culture, most tend to resign from active work once they marry.

Im a techie, based in KD. I read computer science. I’m in the academic line. It’s quite nice to be under the radar lol. nice meeting y’all.

Hi @cyferd we’re going to need you to add more information to your profile so we can verify that you are eligible to join the private group.

Just saw this now, and am glad this topic came up. So i am the lead organizer for Women Techmakers Port Harcourt and
County lead for Women in Tech Africa… For quite sometime we have been having trainings to engage girls studying IT and related fields. Now we have extended our reach to girls/young women who are just tech enthusiasts and want to develop coding skills. Here in Port Harcourt there are still organizations that focus on STEM training for Secondary school girls and they are making huge impact. WAAW Foundation is one of them I worked with… For the group on FB I would love to be added @seyitaylor @ChikaUwazie
