Uber for Sex

I think all the responses (nice or bad) are just feedbacks for @Seguleh1st. I’m sure he knows what do with them.

I have replied the person who deserves a reply.

Ok I understand. But in this life, there wld always be corrupt/419 people. So would you encourage someone 2 build an “Uber for Corruption, 419, Yahoo Yahoo, Bribery” etc?

Just asking.

With all due respect sir, that is not the primary purpose of those platforms.
They were built for people 2 socialize and make friends. That some people decided 2 use it for other purposes is not enough 2 label them as such.

Am so sorry bro. I realised a bit too late that you aren’t a Lawyer. Well, take a closer glance at the Above named Sections 223-225 Criminal Code. Any lawyer will quickly understand that this is an online brothel, procuring and trading in prostitution (God help you if human ttrafficking is proven).

And please do not go into definitions and start defining terms here. Nigerian laws do not work that way because our Judges mostly treat online and offline as same due to our lacking judicial precedent and legislation in those areas.

Also, to say that “Prostitution is legal in Nigeria” is a fallacy of hasty generalization. The North uses the Penal Code which expressly bans all forms of sexual immortality, while the South uses the Criminal Code which impliedly bans it by the above named Sections.

Also, by the provisos of the CPA and ACJL, if your app helps in prostitution in the North, you can be extradited there to face charges by any High Court Judge of competent jurisdiction.

Yes, I concur. Nigerians are hypocrites but there is no need making yourself a known fish.

What’s stopping you? Definitely not me…If you can make a business out of it, more grease to you.

If someone builds Sayhance (working name at this point) they definitely won’t market it as Uber for Sex. It will be a platform for “people 2 socialize and make friends.”

I’m no lawyer but you’ve ever heard of this guy? He takes payment too.

That is like calling Uber a car or transportation company. Uber != YSG. I liked how you moved from your ad hominem baiting to actually saying something that might add value. Besides, this is an ideation exercise, a couple of strangers batting ideas back and forth, those who are providing these kind of services do not come here to ideate, they listen to the market and adapt and the market demand is ever on their side.

Bros I am an illiterate, so you may need to explain to me in plain terms instead of spitting legal jargons. The sections you quoted as as follows

223 - Procuration
224 - Procuring Defilment of woman by threats or fraud, or administering drugs
225 - Abduction of a girl under eighteen with intent to have carnal knowledge

So which of the above sections clearly states that prostitution is Illegal. Judges abide by the Law and do not interpret it the way they wish. So Abeg stop the scaremongering. Which of the Laws does a platform connecting 2 consenting adults break?

Does The fact that I am drinking aclchol in Lagos qualify me to be extraditied to Zamfara?

I am all ears?

All this talk of human trafficking, is it by force to sign up for the app? Maybe I missed that.

I’m sure if ‘Ashley Madison’ type of hack happened in Nigeria you’ll see the names of those that condemned it openly, just saying sha. So many self-righteous Nigerians and yet this country very corrupt and immoral, makes a niggar develop trust issues.

A quick one: badoo already has something like this…indirectly.

Kindly ignore hypocritical moralizers who cannot walk their own talk.

They will be one of your first clients.

First, What metrics do we use for this?

This part would be human, a dispute resolution person who tries to find out what happened from both parties. I think this is important.

I spent 4 months in 2011 building a start-up around LAWMA and lived in a particular hotel for long stretches, the hotel manager was the mediator in sex worker vs client fights, he got it right most days too.

I have died from reading the replies to your post. This probably won’t work bro, you see prostitution is a funny thing. People want to explore and watch and weigh their options before they finally make a move and select a choice. This choice is probably influenced by the alcohol, environment(beer parlour, street, weed zones) and other things normal ashi joint goers can relate to. Also there is this issue of casting as people would then begin to cast known babes on the platform plus these babes won’t want their prices out there but you fit try sha e fit be you!

Please,let’s talk about this

Before Uber, you’d need to step out of your house, walk to a busy road and start looking for a taxi to hail, if you didn’t like the one you saw or couldn’t agree price, you’d wave him off and start over. With Uber, drag, tap, tap and a taxi is on the way.

The supply side of the equation is the hardest I think. If the quality of supply is high a la Uber’s vehicle inspection (there is a joke in here somewhere) demand will follow it.

Pricing isn’t fixed, it is a case by case basis, look at the Afro model for cab hailing, something like that. As for “casting”, oh well…

What would you like to know?

Everything

The telling of that adventure would only derail this thread…but I love telling a good story

A friend whose older sibling was a Private Service Provider for LAWMA told me about the biggest issue with his uncle’s operation, billing was done using an estimation model that was more guesstimate and mathematics, it was a problem all PSPs had. That was a market and a problem in one swoop, We wrote a solution to capture each building and apply a billing scale to it based on needs, a office building generates more waste than some residential buildings and should be billed accordingly, the solution generate the bills, tracked payment and gave a PSP operator visibility into the performance of assigned lots and how much he was making/losing.

Such heady days…did we sell our solution and made a million bucks? Not really. It’s like expecting to bring the rain and barely making dew (reference: Transformers).

An offer I couldn’t refuse came shortly after and on I went, WMBS is still up and running, not raining yet, drizzling maybe.

Comment above was response to the question below.

Apologies @Seguleh1st if I don’t see the gem behind the comment but I believe this is where us as a society should draw the line. We can argue all day about morality. But AFAIK, the law is clear about the issues @Chisomy_SOG listed above. They are criminal and please do not do an Uber for anything criminal.

Per OP’s idea(s), I do not have anything meaningful to add except, “I don’t agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”.

is there anything criminal in this kind of pleasure for those who believe? just a thought

Hey man,

Not sure I understand your question but my comment was referring to “Uber for Corruption, 419, Yahoo Yahoo, Bribery”. Those are criminal according to the law, correct?

If you’re asking about OP’s idea. I have no comment on that except to each his/her own, so long as it’s not criminal.

Does that clear things?

BTW, glad to see/read/hear you @Tola:grinning:
