My Online Store for UK Used Phones is 90% Ready (UKUsedPhones.com)

Guys…Please check out my new online store UKUsedPhones.com

It’s a multi-seller platform that helps buyers outside and within Lagos order UK Used phones from genuine dealers in computer village. For 6 months, I have been doing a lot of groundwork and market survey on how to digitalize computer village market ( specifically UK smartphones)

I have once created a thread here in November 2015: eCommerce Model For Computer Village UK Used Phones - Any Idea

I think it’s time to START and be less of a PERFECTIONIST.

Thanks to PayStack for making it easier for me to handle the payment side, so I own all transactions just like Jumia does while ACE courier does the delivery.

One more thing: Type-In traffic right now is high.

Please criticise this store…GOOD AND BAD OPINION ARE WELCOME.

So am on the site and within the first few seconds i notice that the is no (or no obviously visible) way to search.

I can’t buy if i can’t even find what i want to buy.

Noted Bro…Thank for that…very very important @codegidi

i suggest you add a price filter, so people like me wouldn’t have to search page by page to find budget-matching prices.
Other than that I think this is good.

Thanks bro, Will do that now

For me when I want to buy a used phone, I prefer to see actual pictures of the phone or as a worse case a description of the phone. It helps me a make a decision on the quality and my acceptable threshold. Can that be done when you upload used phones to put pictures?

It’s a multi-seller platform…We list and approve sellers with UK used phones in good and working conditions. Whatever picture we approve is exactly what you will get.

Buyers can also walk into a sellers’ store before making purchases.; that’s we only work with sellers with a physical store.

You idea is welcome at the same time, will update the product features to reflect basic specs.

For me,

  1. The layout is a no no cos it has been over-killed for the wrong purposes. I would love to see something fresh and re-oriented.
  2. Avoid Adsense on the home page, if you can avoid altogether it till you gain major traction and become widely known.
  3. Avoid using generic images(those are not the real pix), icons and gif’s like the one on the home page -It rings scammer alert. Try to generate original elements for everything.

Congrats for starting

Thanks bro…Well noted! Will implement it.

The images are our first round of upload from one seller…We believe that the second round will come from the sellers themselves once we launch the store which should depict the real images of UK Used phones.

Adsense will definitely be taking down…just there for a while, as soon we update and correct all issues, you won’t see it again.

We are non-techies trying to build an MVP, so perfectionist is not what we are after but as time goes on, we would need a product improvement and development expert…UI design is a continuous stuff.

Thanks @ekemini you critics are great. God bless.

Great stuff! Although I observed some merchants were posting items with wrong descriptions. As a buyer, this is a red flag for me. Take this iPhone 7 posted with iPhone 5 details for example; http://ukusedphones.com/product/iphone-7-price-in-nigeria-computer-village-ikeja-lagos-nigeria/

Educating the merchants on how to post items might help.
