Paypal Merchant Account in Nigeria - You can now receive payments in Nigeria through Paypal. You can create a Paypal Merchant Account in Nigeria to receive payments, however, you must have a MasterCard or Visa Card to do that. As of now, no bank account allowed to receive payments in Nigeria. I just created and linked one to http://vacationhosting.com.ng.
How come you are the only person announcing this news?
If any one needs a merchant account, head to http://paypal.com/ng. Click Signup and click Business Account.
Johnny this is hands down the most audacious plug, ever. Hands down.
@thefenshop. I advocated to Paypal for it for our company’s need in particular and for Nigerian merchants in general and I received an email from Paypal notifying me when it was ready.
@87_chuks, It’s called SHARING. Why don’t you say: Thank you.
Thank you @Johnny
He is very right. You can try them.
This information is wrong. I just contacted PayPal and they still do not permit Nigerians to receive Payments.
They might, in the future
Sorry the Future is now!
The future is when they allow us charge in Naira.
Is this official ? There should be a link with official information on this ?
Here’s proof of contacting PayPal
I also just confirmed, and it does not work yet. You can create a merchant account but can’t receive payment.
Remember Customer Service don’t know everything. Have no fear, just try it.
It takes few days for your account to be confirmed. It is not automatic.
Also can’t help but notice the contradicting statements from OP. Where does the money go?
Can we see the mail, sir?
Pardon my English, but let Paypal go abeg. We have companies like Paystack that are doing extremely well to cater to the needs of Nigerian businesses.
Thanks for sharing this info.
But I need to get the picture correctly here - do we need PayPal for local transactions? If the answer is yes, then I do not agree, because there is Voguepay, PayStack, SimplePay and more for that.
The second question is: do we need PayPal for international transactions? If the answer is yes, I have to say I disagree as well, because even Voguepay handles international transactions for you.
So, do we need PayPal to make payments anymore? My answer is a capital NO. They should have come into the scene when we did not have other options.
@Johnny Could you please update the title of your post to reflect the current situation? We wouldn’t want to mislead people. If you can’t, a mod will do it within the hour.
