A free Stock Photo site. Finally. Snapaya.com guys

Hey guys,
We all have stock photo problems.
The usual not-authentic-enough, or too-expensive struggle. We’re tired of searching for ‘black’ on Google, or Unsplash, or everywhere else.
We have great photographers but we don’t have our own get-photos-quick place, so we thought it would be great make one.
And so, Snapaya happened.
The vetting process lets only high-res photos through. Did I mention its completely free-to-use?

Please check it out, review, suggest how it can be made better. And of course, tell everyone.
Thank you very much.

Really great photos, @TheFuad!
I think that it would be better not to display the images in full size on the home page.

Also, saw what you did with the “scroll down low”.

@TheFuad Great job! Will definitely be utilizing your collection for future projects.

I think you should include a paid section as well so as to encourage people to upload pics where you can add the ability for them to tag some pictures as free and/or paid.

Do you handle or take requests for custom jobs?

Love it!

There’s a footnote that shows the theme the site was created with. Might want to remove that.

All i’m reading here is Sharphire.com :joy:

FREE pictures - I like.
Can the photos be tagged into categories during upload, to enable search?

One of the simplest, clearest sites I’ve seen. I love!

Thanks @ukay for that bit on full size images!:raised_hands: Done that now.

Your points are pretty solid @jogunjobi.
For now, we just want to focus on getting as many photographers posting photos. The only incentive available at the moment is that the photos are hyperlinked with their contact/portfolio links.

Ah, you get mouth @Tade. Fixed!:raised_hands:

Aha! @aufuray likes it! The photos are tagged with as many keywords as possible. So any photo with Danfo buses, even if its not the main subject of the photo, will be tagged ‘danfo’.

:joy: @iweanya
Sharphire is bae though

@Diakon You be sabi guy. Thanks!

Really nice, how you making money from this though?

For now, and for the foreseeable future, we just want people to be able to find good photos. At no cost.
Really.

That’s very generous lol. All the best

The simplicity of the site is just amazing and its locality is worth commending. Great job man. I have already bookmarked you guys.

Solid premise. Naturally, some of us have tried to crack it (foto.ng), but it’s not that simple in execution. This is a brilliant and efficient MVP. But eventually, there are going to be questions around ownership and incentives…

Hi @TheFuad, all of us at “Sharphire” were so excited to see this platform this morning. Great start

We are pushing a new frontdesk.ng version where users can add “hero” sections and a few other sections on their frontdesk.

Would it be possible for frontdesk users to select any of the pictures on snapaya.com as “background images” on their frontdesk websites?

Just like the one below.
