These guys claim to do payments stripe-like with their pop up checkout card and android SDK. Wondering how they managed to pull that off with ISW redirect in the picture…?
Is this actually live? You can’t sign up and there isn’t a ton of info.
Their docs looks good. What interests me tho is the native Android support they claim to have even with Interswitch in the picture like OP said.
@onyeka I signed up today and it worked for me but they put my account “Under Review”. The dashboard also looks good, but I’m yet to test the actual service. I sent them a DM on Twitter @StaplePay and they said they usually review all sign-ups before letting them go live, so I want to assume they’re working already.
But we don’t want to go live… yet. We just want to test. Why can’t everyone be like stripe?
You can test with your account clientID…
What I meant by “go live” is I can’t accept actual cash yet. They put my account under review like I said. Once you sign up you get a client ID you can develop and test with but you just can’t go live yet until they’ve reviewed your account according to them. I guess they’re trying to confirm if my business is legit or not
Yes, exactly.
That sounds good. I’ll give it a run tomorrow.
So this is a Nigerian Stripe clone?
Would have loved to see [a picture of] what it looks like running on Android.
See web demo here: https://fairysisters.com/
What do you think?
So I just gave this a try on the Fairy Sisters site, and I have to say, mildly misleading. The pop-up box is mostly aesthetic seeing as hitting pay still redirects you to the Interswitch site. I mean, if I want to be technical, it all works, but I guess the Stripe-y-ness made me think it was going to work the same way ie. pay on page.
Just tried it too. You still get redirected to Interswitch. (I was already expecting that once I saw that Interswitch logo anyway).
if you don’t want to pay interswitch 150k for their payment gateway. I think i would advise you use staple.pay. i.e if it is free to use.
So is Paga, 2checkout etc… I have nothing against it, it just didn’t have a feature I thought it would.
What feature is that ?
“pay on page” I think.
Plus the option of recurring payments. I want to be able to automatically charge my customers’ cards every month end for their subscription. Still can’t.
The only people to solve the interswitch redirect issue is Interswitch!
Currently working on 2 mobile apps and as someone who is very passionate about great UI and UX, redirecting to that ugly ISW page for payment breaks my heart.
While we all wait for Interswitch to solve the nagging problem raised by @xolubi, one way I strongly recommend to cross this hurdle with your recurring subscription is to encourage your users to have wallets with existing payment aggregators so that you can set up recurring billing to autocharge for your payment. I know that VoguePay.com offers this type of integration.
Hope InterSwitch or GTBank comes to the rescue sooner than Stripe or PayPal.
