Zend was acquired... and nobody cared

I believe everyone in here knows what PHP is. Interestingly, it’s still the most popular language on the web, being used by the likes of Facebook, WordPress and Wikipedia. What many people don’t know is that PHP is managed by Zend, PHP runs on Zend Engine.

That company, Zend was recently acquired by a company I had not heard about till last week (Rogue Wave), but the interesting thing is, despite PHP’s popularity, very few news outlet actually carried the news. Like this is Oracle acquiring Sun microsystems kind of news and nobody cared.

So i care and I’m sharing this here. Let it sink in :smile:

Geez remembering all those terrible moments with Zend 1 and Zend 2. Framework for masochists. well am assuming it’s aimed at Enterprise companies. besides Zend is no longer free and it was hell installing on Ubuntu.
