This, exactly is one of my reasons.
of course everyone who uses AdBlocks would say they’re great, after blocking the publisher’s(you visited his site for free) source of revenue

Lol!!! Linda knows nothing about tech. She’s good at bringing people together that’s her up.
I still don’t see a future where AdBlocks are smart enough to block every ad. The way brands interact now with comedy skits, sponsored posts etc makes ads look more like content.
I hate ads but come on, how do we expect to pay for all the free stuff?
Would you prefer lindaikeji, online newspapers etc to offer some form of freemium model where you read a brief for free and subscribe to get the whole gist?
Punch newspaper tried it in its early days online and it backfired stupendously. (I’m not saying it’s cool to overwhelm a site with untargeted ads either)
All I’m saying is - Ad blockers is not necessarily the perfect solution.
It is ads that helped google offer many services for free and still be the giant it is today.
Think of what would happen if ads became obsolete overnight.
They are simply saying, Linda needs to make her platform better than an Ad/Spam centre so we can read or unread her gossips errr news…Her slouching has allowed naij.com and pulse.ng become preferred go to choice for gossips, if she keeps this up then it wont be long before things wind down on her end and other platforms become better for brands to advertise on.
Totally agree with you on this, sponsor post will be sure way to go in the coming year, as more and more people are installing adblocks on their browser
