The best NBA teams in recent memory were bought, the most loved teams were built. A top tier team without a youth division or d-league affiliate doesn’t exist.
Of course I am trying to contrast how we approach building tech teams in Nigeria.
Would like to hear your thoughts.

@Ajibz I don’t see any reality for a Nigerian startup where you are not constantly ‘building’ your team. The talent pool out here is not deep enough for startups to be Mourinhos. At best you will have a hybrid where you buy a few star players and groom the rest. But more likely than not, you’ll end up being an Arsenal; grooming potential stars only for the big dogs to swoop in and poach your talented guys once they have good experience 
I agree with your point, but there are Abramovich’s though.
