Slot is, arguably, the biggest phone retail chain in Nigeria. Some couples of months ago, Slot opened their office along Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1. It is just opposite The Pavilion where the Lekki-Ikoyi Walk-Run Team assembles for their run. It was a welcome development since there is no serious phone store within the Lekki Phase 1 estate. Then two weeks ago, I noticed that the new store had been renamed: “Yes.” I thought it was a one-off thing. Maybe business within the estate wasn’t as expected. However, when I visited the Cherub Complex opposite Alpha Beach road (close to Chevron), I noticed that the Slot office there had been renamed: “Yes.”
I haven’t been to the mainland in a while. Is it a general thing across all Slot shops? Is Slot rebranding? Has Slot been acquired? What is going at Slot? Who is Yes? Abeg may person help torchlight this matter!
Thank you.

Hmmmmm very interesting. Not sure what’s going on either.
I googled yes nigeria and came across these two stories about a company called Yes Mobile “an innovative Nigerian mobile phone retail chain” which I’d never heard about before
I couldn’t find anything relevant googling yes & slot though.
Perhaps they just bought or leased outlets formerly used by slot…?
Anyways I’m sure someone around here may know, or the truth will come out soon enough…
I asked on twitter and here was what I got

Thank you very much @iaboyeji. I never knew Slot was a franchise! Wonders shall never end!!
Definitely. A serious breach!!
The info seemed to come from team SLOT so I’m not entirely sure how unbiased the data is.
It could also be as simple as the franchisee saw a more lucrative opportunity and switched over.
