I remember being excited about the service when it launched and it did get a good number of digital high-fives in the ecosystem, not forgetting Average Joe @xolubi
Although similar services now run in Lagos and Abuja, the questions still remains What happened to SoupToYourDoor and why did it close it’s doors?
Feel free to tag people who you know are aware of the matter to drop their comments on the thread. No doubt there are lessons to be learned.
I actually got my soup fix for some time from the website. Wasn’t disappointed. The owner is a friend of mine and AFAIK, she had a 9-5 during the week and cooked all Saturday to do deliveries on Sunday. Now I haven’t had a reason to use it for some time now and wasn’t aware the website was down. Perhaps her schedule got busier or something. I’ll find out.
UPDATE: Apparently the domain name is in a bit of situation similar to what caused Loy Okezie to forego startupsnigeria.com and switch to techloy.com. However her existing customers are making followup orders via whatsapp.
I hate that this sounds like I’m evoking clichés or something but her role in the business is (was?) making the soup. Let’s just say now she needs a new technical cofounder.
