I posted in the room few weeks ago that we are willing to put food on every techie table in Yaba, here we are…we have launched.
www.verolafoods.com You can order for your breakfast and we will deliver quickly. We are impressed by the turn up for the peppersoup Friday last week, we will do it again this Friday. We think it’s a good way to ignite team bounding within startup, and with a price of 5k, it’s within budget of every startups…
This week we will improve on the UX, most especially the ordering process. We JFDI!
Do you work from Yaba and want to stop walking to get food? Try us out!
Enemy must be at work here o! I just tried to replicate this and it added to cart, please have you been able to add yet? Which browser are you using? Do let me know. You can place the order over the phone as well, or PM.
It appears the Access-Control-Allow-Origin response header is not permissive enough to allow both variants of the same origin i.e. http://velorafoods.com and http://www.velorafoods.com. Whilst it appears set to * in some of the js requests, it isn’t set at all for the call to index.php
Whilst setting the Access-Control-Allow-Origin to * on index.php will fix it, it is better and more secure if you reconfigure your webserver to rewrite all http://www.velorafoods.com URLs to http://velorafoods.com or vice versa.
@Possicon Not particularly impressed with your service. I am only giving this feedback because from conversation on this thread, it appears you are open to feedback.
Placed an order for peppersoup about 3 weeks ago when you first put up the peppersoup friday post. Paid and put my delivery location in Lekki Ph 1. Note that your peppersoup friday post (till this day) did not indicate any restriction on location. It does not even mention Yaba.
Got a call that delivery was postponed to the following week. On that call, I was not told anything about a problem with my location. Now in the new delivery week, I sent 2 emails asking for confirmation that I would get my order that friday - no response.
On said friday, no delivery, no call, no email, no contact, and yet you have my money.
Up until yesterday (tuesday) when I still got nothing I realised I had been “unlooked”. I had to send a complaint mail wondering what was going on and asking for a refund, and then I get a response that you could not deliver outside Yaba and you complied with the refund. Thats practically 3 weeks after first payment - and I had to ask for it or else your guess is as good as mine…
Good concept, friendly pricing, but I suggest you fix up your customer service and be more proactive, as well as being straight up on terms / conditions of your offering.
Have mercy. The conversation that led to this startup started on Radar, and was centered around Yaba. At worst, this was an error of omission with a consequence they seem to have eventually resolved.
@conwurah thanks for your feedback. People from other parts of Lagos showed interest and later backed out. I’d wanted us to go ahead with other areas(at least for our MVP validation) but when they send in the economic cost, it was not the best. I’m sorry we couldn’t make Lekki, I personally called a couple people. Deeply sorry we forgot to do that follow up call.
Another thing we are thinking about areas outside Yaba is bulk orders say 5k, we can work out a reasonable delivery fee with that. But ultimately, we will open a Kitchen in Lekki!
No problem @possicon. Will look forward to your Lekki kitchen whenever you do get here.
My main concern wasn’t about not making the delivery, it was about the no reply to my emails and the idea my order may have fallen through the cracks (untracked). I trust as a stakeholder that you picked up on these …just to make sure the ball isn’t being dropped anywhere along the chain, for other future customers
Good luck with the service, and keep up the great attitude.
