This “coding thing” is a big issue. I am a UXer and I really don’t code - but in Nigeria right now, that is like a big joke. I have had numerous encounters where a “supposedly” UX task ends up really being a front-end development work and that leaves guys like me at a disadvantage. Aside that, there is the constant misuse of UI & UX…
I feel your pain. It’s still part of the UX awareness and understanding issue. UX professionals in the local market would have to educate their clients/organisations, communicating their value in a language they understand.
UX is how to design properly. It is a mindset, a goal and a combination of skills/tools. There’s not the one skill that is UX.
The main thing is that they co-create with their target audience.
There can be no wrong if there is no right … “we” learn - summing UX as a Design Discipline is inconclusive and likened to when Advertising fails to bring forth the Big Idea
