Nice idea.
@aixen thatâs a good idea. I will be using it for www.evonso.com. The video recording of the testerâs activities is a very good idea.
The site looks nice. I think you should consider adding https since it involves people potentially adding their payment info and other personal details. @yoowai has mentioned www.usertesting.com and itâs not clear what differentiates your site from theirs, will it for instance, be the targeting of Nigerian customers?
On the payment issue, if I am designing a test, after filling out the form, do I pay online? What if I want to add more testers after my first batch, whatâs the process, do I setup another test again?
As a tester, 400 naira for 15mins of playing around isnât bad, but if I only take one test a month, thatâs no money. It will be nice to take as many tests as possible a month, so you really have to get product owners on the platform, you can be sure testers will always come. Also, transferring 400 Naira after every test wonât be cost effective with all the fucking charges.
The signup process was smooth. Like I said earlier, you will probably need to collect more info from testers. I think you should ask for info like interests, industry of employment, etc. might help in grouping users better.
Sorry. What I meant to say is shouldnât you the platform provider have support for multiple platforms like Android and iOS. Cross-browser tests are the clients responsibility like you said, but there is need to differentiate desktop and mobile because for most websites they have different user experiences.
@amakaikem Thank you!
Re: https & other security measures: Of course! I wonât implement a payment option on the site without proper security in place.
I will say though, that the form is secure, you wonât get spammed, and your details wonât get sent to 3rd parties.
Compared to usertesting.com, yes, the current differentiator is the Nigerian market focus AND pricing.
@Lamidi_b_a
No, you donât pay online. This isnât a registered company yet, so I canât integrate PayStack or other such options. You get an invoice with payment details.
Yup, I need more product owners. Shameless plug [That includes you, Lamidi]
Eventually, I will collect more info from testers, but I thought Iâd keep it simple for now, and observe what the product owners want.
@Yinka
Yes to everything, and allowing people test on mobile devices is the next big hurdle Iâm working to cross.
To everyone: I built that site on Sunday, as an experiment. This isnât to say that I didnât do any research or think some things through - I did. What Iâve put together is crude, but if you send in a request for a product test, youâll get your videos, i.e. the core functionality is there. That said, the fact that itâs an experiment means Iâm still figuring many things out as I go along, and as (or if?) this gains traction, things will be clearer, more functionality and security measures will be implemented, things will be more integrated, etc.
Please keep the comments and observations coming (because theyâre helping me learn whatâs important), and please let me know if thereâs anything youâve struggled with on the site.
Alright then. I hope you cross that hurdle soon.
Youâre doing great!
Thanks James, Iâll be waiting for you
UPDATE: Iâve included an option to get a free product test.
