Richard Musinguzi has been nicknamed the ‘Walt Disney of Uganda’ for his creation - a cartoon character called Katoto. The character is always finding himself in funny situations with his wife, his son or his cow and their comical adventures have a big following on social media. Richard tells Jo what inspired him to take up drawing.

Thanks for posting this! I’ve seen all his animated shorts. Richard musinguzi is really talented and has a true understanding of the core 2D animation concepts and I think once his team grows, he will go places. We need a guy like this in naija. I know Our Own Area is trying with their stuff and while their jokes can be funny, their animation leaves a lot to be desired.

Richard has a vision and he has the actual talent to back it up. I’m stoked to see where he goes from here.

reminds me a lot of the early anime days but the principles stand the test of time.
