The Nigerian Budget is now in a searchable format online

@dewole10 of Tinitop Technologies has put up the Nigerian budget in a format that is searchable. Nice project http://publicdata.ng/budget2016/?utm_content=bufferbaf8a&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

This is tight. Kudos.

Sounds like a job for Devcenter people @Akinfals

Great job. Needs analytics. Apart from grouping by agency, they need to group by themes like diplomacy, education, health, security. Also each org needs a pie chart to see how much goes to salaries, overheads, etc.

Thanks a lot, everyone! It’s been crazy over the last couple of hours trying to speed up data entry at publicdata.ng now that everyone knows what I’ve been up to.

From the feedback I have seen from all the TechCabal people here and on twitter, it looks like there are many people willing to chip in. I will be making a submission at the Senate President’s Office today (in response to their open call last week).

If given a chance to speak, may I state that there is an active community of tech-savvy Nigerians ready to help move Nigeria out of the old order?

I think the answer to that question is yes. And Radar is just a small part of said “active community”. What, with Budgit, CcHub, EiE, Devcenter, Yaba Right, more that I’m probably not aware of? Yes, you may.

You need to also put up budgets for states. Try to collaborate with budgit. You guys are doing the same thing.
