TechCabal presents Africabeta, powered by WeChat

Since we did the first TechCabal Battlefield in 2014, the question on the lips of everyone has been; when is the next Battlefield? The answer to that question is still “it’s coming”. But if you liked TechCabal Battlefield, then you will certainly like what we’ve got coming out very soon.

TechCabal has partnered with WeChat to organise the first ever Africabeta event, and it will be happening on the 3rd of October.

Africabeta is an event aimed at unearthing and celebrating the people, technologies and companies that will define the next phase of Africa. Technology is driving a lot of change in African society in many ways – politics, commerce, urban planning, sex and relationships…. Africabeta is the forum where we’ll capture those conversations.

In the October 2015 edition of Africabeta, we’ll be exploring the transformative power of mobile and the lifestyle applications that are on the rise in Africa in a conversation tagged “Chat 3.0”.

October’s edition of Africabeta is proudly powered by WeChat. So as a bonus, Chat 3.0 will also showcase the growth of the platform, and invite startups to use WeChat as a development platform to take their app and businesses to the next level.

How to participate? There are two ways.

Attend: Entry is free, but tickets are limited, so you’ll need to tell us why you want to attend.

Ideate: On the other hand, you can participate in the WeChat Ideathon. If you’ve got a business proposition that would benefit from distribution on the WeChat platform, then the Ideathon is your opportunity to gain early access. From ideas to market-ready and even market-tested solutions, your proposals are all welcome. Outstanding ideas stand to gain a number of benefits, including dedicated WeChat go-to-market support and the opportunity to demonstrate their ideas on the Africabeta stage.

We will keep you posted with developments as they come. In the meantime, go to Africabeta.co and register.
