Say hello to KONGAPAY

To everyone asking, here is the link - https://kongapay.com/

Here comes @cyberomin. He’s the Konga man to ask those questions!

No questions whatsoever. KongaPay is old news in some circles. It’s been hinted at since last year.

Just letting our meme possessed Mr wkyo to learn to use quotes next time where appropriate.

Exactly. I saw a countdown timer on the site. What are they really counting down to? How many times do they want to launch KongaPay? They’ve been doing billboard adverts for KongaPay for a long time now.

Some people have collected ‘estacode’ for the relaunch of this untethered version, so they must fanfare much.

@Ndianabasi & @87_chuks Yes, the news about KongaPay has been out for a while now, but the service was limited to Konga. This is the first time we are opening it up to everyone, hence the “re-launch.”

Is that why we are here?

I expect offline merchant to use this if Konga push it with its clout. It has the potential of becoming a big treat to interswitch.

Imagine walking to a stall and only swipe with your app? Or a small square-like hardware you can receive payment with?

Recurring billing? Paystack? Who need PayPal if all these guys work well?

From the app mock up and content on the site, I believe this is Konga’s attempt at replicating Alipay/Tenpay in Nigeria.

Good luck!

Goodluck to them convincing “Nigerians” to sign up.
Even a guy with 1,230 naira in his account will still be like “they want to steal my money”.

Lol… When I said Nigerians had massive trust issues, a certain agbero proposed an escrow solution…

Everybody cannot hold the same views as yours. Don’t refer to people with dissenting views as Agberos. Be civil.

Three beliefs bro.

I believe I never implied otherwise.

I believe I referred to a single, self acclaimed agbero.

I believe I never commented out of spite.

Kongapay relaunch or launch 2.0 is ill-timed tho.

How many of their users(Konga.com) have ACTIVELY Used the payment processor for up to 1 year for it to be opened to the public so soon? i mean they had a playing field to do massive A/B Testing on this, gather data, itierate, test, gather data and with that understand merchant needs and customer shopping behaviour then launch out n aggressively acquire customers because the marketing tag would have been : Payment Processor for Merchants by Merchants…(Konga let me not see this on your next marketing ad copy) and with data to back up useage, then adopting merchants and shoppers would have been more easier.

Instead they go for the Razzmatazz…Launch with Fanfare and after that…Zilch, millions of dollars spent on ads that derive zero input i mean look at Pay with Capture for example.

We all know Konga have always looked up to Amazon/Alibaba as Models to copy but Here is Nigeria, where many .com business models FAIL.

We now have lots of Payment Processors both local, foreign, regional, hyperlocal and foreign-local( will explain some other time) all competing for the space yet the Integration fee still stands at 1.5-2% for Merchants( Nothing new)

What exactly is ther USP? Because it still looks like another ‘me too’ product.

Expect dizzying Email blast in the coming weeks.

I will just drop this here

Oga, explain now!

You made a statement of fact

Then you proceed to ask the questions.

You’ve just successfully put the cart before the horse. Brilliant.
I’m very sure Konga would love to pay for the KongaPay statistics that you have and they don’t.

Disclosure: I work at Konga
