Hello… i’d appreciate any feedback on this.
[/quote]Honestly, just a little bit more of effort from your end, will make it easier for everybody.

A ‘little bit more effort’ like saying 'This is a fun side project I made to test people’s knowledge on Lagos - let me know what you think?’ or you could have said, ‘I’m a newbie to Lagos and I made this test as I’m no longer a JJC - take the test to find out what you are’ . All this took me 30 seconds to type and it’s more helpful than just saying ‘I will appreciate feedback on this’ with absolutely no context.

Now in terms of the app itself, I felt it was cool - nice pictures and colour. However, the questions could be better as they didn’t tell a story. No consistent flow. But maybe you’re not big on telling stories, so find someone who can.

And for UX, it will be good to either number your questions or use an indicator to show users progress. In that way, a user wouldn’t give up as they will wonder 'how long is this going to take’

Everything @PapaOlabode said.
Plus nice UI…

Ah! I was thinking is this a new app? startup? device or what? lol

Nice UI. However, when I got to the second question “Do you drive in Lagos?”, I checked “No” and got the following message:

“A city of hustle and dreams…blood and sweat, the struggles and the corresponding victories are what makes us proud to be called lagosians!!!..‘Lagosian’, a term that gets thrown around way too often, do you think you are worthy of that title? Lets find out! and if you get a high enough score… you will be allowed to submit questions which would be added to the app. Goodluck!”

And nothing happens afterwards. Did I miss something?

Sigh. I quit after question two because of the “unknown factor”.

It needs:
Number of questions/progress
Brief overview of what it is and
Expected results.

And everything else @PapaOlabode said.

i thought it was fun and uncertain.
And I guess that was what it was meant for.

So After my “Fun” high score what then? Bye for ever ?

Nice UI … and like like @Oboraxe said, after then what?
What about comparing scores (my scores over time, with other people’s score)?
What about retrying, still asking me for my name again…

As other have said, nice UI. A couple improvements could be made though -

  • Adding a progress bar so people know how far along they are in the quiz
  • When a new answer is being loaded, the fading in takes too long
  • What does my total score at the end mean? I got 1350, but what is that out of? Is that good? Is that bad?

Fun game though!

Also when I click to share, the tweet includes a link to “http://yousabilagos.com/” which is a broken link

I enjoyed it lol, improve it anyway u can or been advised to.

For me, i like the thrill of not knowing where this is going. I used the app trying to not look for a mistake and i enjoyed it.
The notable thing is the fadeIn animation. Its too slow.

My score’s 1800.

I don’t know how much of Lagos i sabi with that number …

OP must have left on sabbatical since posting this.

I like the design, the colours, but I wondered about the surprise factor too…I eventually told myself it’s a game, so just enjoy it and curiosity made me continue. I got a high score of 2100 according to “sabiLagos” but where does that lead me?
I think it will only be fair if @TobiAlagbe comes back from his ‘sabbatical’ because you can’t put a ‘JJC’ inside BRT without buying ticket for him…

Excellent work here! The thing about making an app like this is that it drains all of your creativity/effort/energy just to get to this point (true story … been there), leaving little resources for finer endeavors such as marketing/polish/monetization etc. This is especially true if you are a one or two man team. I’m guessing that’s part of the reason for the oneliner introduction. Unfortunately, these things (polish, story, user experience, MONETIZATION) are just as just as important as the lines of code implementing the main functions. Personally, I have learned to ensure that after delivering the first version (like you have brilliantly done), I just need to prepare carefully for version 2 that addresses these finer aspects (and not feel bad when it looks like version 1 efforts are not appreciated). That being said, two main comments

  • FadeIn Animation : As mentioned, too slow. Bothered me.
  • Cuing player : It may be a good idea to tell the player when the game is “over” and hint them at what they did wrong, and what they should do to start again. Currently, you just have a page saying LAGOS!!! and a story (mentioned above). Took me a while to figure I had “failed”.

Best.
V.

@vykthur as mentioned in one of the earlier comments, this was meant to be a fun side project, so a lot of these concerns didn’t come up, but i really appreciate all the comments and suggestions and i’d make amendments. Thanks a lot.

Honestly, this reminded me of Duolingo - they made gamification popular with their language app but if you have used that app before, you would notice a lot of things that can help retain users and keep them coming ontop your product.

Your work is solid though
