Radar and it's rules

I remember the first time I saw radar, I was blown away. Not by the idea but the workings of the platform it runs on. Whoever made this open source has some balls. I hope the guy imitates Matt from WordPress.

I played around for a while, gave some suggestions and went quiet for a long time. Yesterday a friend of mine opened it up in the office and then I saw what I consider to be the biggest problem with the Nigerian startup ecosystem. We hate each other and sometimes are too open about it. I remember my first startup a few years ago, I was young full of life and very eager to learn and create stuff. Like every young dude I was building a social network. This was after gaining god mode on the prestigious hack this site. Everywhere I talked about this site people hated for no justified reason even on the silicon Valley group on Facebook. They called it advertising that shit still fickles me till date. How would you say sharing an idea was advertising?

Let me get to my point here, so I came back on radar and saw people lashing out at ideas from people who were passionate about their stuff. And these comments were allowed to stay on the site. Pause! Radar claims to have or try to have some level of decency and in that regard people feel smart or intelligent talking here. Unfortunately Radar you are confusing people here. It’s like walking into the Bush to shit. You are most likely going to shit close to where the dried up poop is, it’s instinct. So when people see people dissing each other openly they get involved and it becomes a free for all. I had my share of that and actually told my friend that this activity was going to cause some sort of stir on here. Well I Did it! Lol. I am not saying all the things I said made sense in fact I think I mentioned I was going to be an ass even before going on to become one.

dear Radar what would you do if you had 100s of me on your forum at once? You’d manually ban people from being able to have freedom of speech? Face it, you are not the first victim and won’t be that last. Even people solving these challenges using tech are having a hard time doing it. I am living testimony to that. I’d leave it open if I were you, focus on finding ways to make the reasonable stuff stay on top and the dumb ones stay below.

@lordbanks I know you’re surprised I hope this clears it all. And before you people start coming for my head this is not an apology…and dear @onyeka you’re a girl so you can slap me abi? My girl is coming for you…

Huh? What???

Although your reasons are well spelt.
It is still beyond my comprehension as to why a Radar User would feel compelled to raise dust to begin with. I think you should rather try to teach sensitivity at all levels to fellow radar users. Freedom of speech always seems to come into play when someone engraves in stone iniquity and blames it on the fact that radar failed to tighten its reigns.

I mean…humans will be humans and will always tend to do things that embarrass the entire radar family (including myself), but for f*cks sake…YOU DON’T DEFEND IT. It’s definitely time to give a wake up call to this sort of gross misconduct. You should embrace the movement and not even compare yourself with the “100s” of you; as mentioned by you.

I believe Radar will henceforth couth any misconduct , so we should be ready to deal with the consequences that our moderators will undoubtedly dole out.
