I created this app and wanted to know what you guys think. It’s simply an app where users share funny pictures, videos, jokes, stories. The link is at http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Kaweapp.naiplay
Good effort. But, why should I choose naiplay over my ever reliable youtube?
Well naiplay is focused on one thing which is laughter (the goal of the app is to turn your mobile to a funspot ). You can’t view/share jokes and pictures with youtube but with naiplay thats very possible. Plus youtube consumes a lot of data, while naiplay is data friendly.
Overtime there are plans to add more features(this features are currently not available on youtube)
Let me ignore the UI and talk about functionality.
The good
When I “landed” in the app, I immediately understood it’s supposed to be a stream of funny feeds.
You have content, which is one more thing.
the not so good
Images refuse to load
Ads, everybody hates ads, you should at least garner some popularity first
Can’t I comment on a post I like? I want to.
Walking on by
Top banner ads are annoying. It should be bottom.
ui needs a makeover. Maybe the design guys here can help you out
You should perhaps see what your competition is doing. e.g. akpos jokes and LWKM
Thanks. I am going put the banner ad at the bottom of the screen like it’s done in lwkm and apkos jokes. I will also shift the like and share buttons to the right side of the screen and if a post is too long shorten it and add a read more text
Thanks. Looking to add comments when the app gains popularity. Do be glad if you can give me a solution to the image loading problem(it can become very fustrating on slow connection)
Basically, you put the cart before the horse. Ads before the app gains popularity, but engagement (which would help with user retention) to wait till app gains popularity. Riddle me this.
Your argument is hard to beat so I am adding comments in the next update.
