Please help me to review a webApp I created

So for sometime now I have been working on a webApp which I want to use in delivering a social networking and discussion board experience all in 1. You can view my work so far on http://projectnaija.com and drop your reviews and opinion. Thanks in advance.

As a user, I’ll say it’s nice especially as I can partly use the webApp without registering.

After registering, I tried to login the first time from the page I was redirected to after successful sign up and I got redirected to “http://www.projectnaija.com/index.php?out=”, no error message, no success message and I wasn’t logged in. I tried again and I successfully logged in. Hurrah.

My username at the top bar shows “THEozmic[13]”, I dunno what “13” means - that’s not good

During registration, I put in “Port Harcourt City” as location but in my profile I only see “Port Harcourt C”, tried editing my profile, same thing.

I accidentally created a thread in the wrong category, I can’t see a place to change the category.

I would like to be a part of your team. I develop using php most times and I see it’s built with php. Not asking for you to pay me, I just want to get some more experience.

Nice, but the UI sucks. I believe you can improve on it.

Thanks for your feedback. What about the UI sucks to you? Rome they say wasn’t built in a day, if you list points like the poster above you that will help me to deliver a better user experience.

As for the UI, I think it’s not a very big issue for now. As long as there are plans to improve it. It’s darn obvious that it’s not the best looking UI but I think it’s deliberate to a point since it’s still under development.

Thank you my brother (if am permitted to call you that). Some improvements to the GUI is on the way. And I will work with valuable points made on this thread too.

Commendable if you coded it from scratch. With most apps and Internet-dependent platforms what really matters is viability and viability is a given when you have a strong user base whether they are customers or enthusiasts, the second thing is whether the platform works as advertised and will not break or prove inconvenient to use. Fancy design means nothing when a product has no user base. Identify whether your product can attract a user base and sustain it before worrying excessively about the fancy stuff.

Awesome concept plus tad modern UI. About time we got a nairaland replacement that at least listens to its community.
