I’m actually wondering the essence of this Paypal and First Bank collaboration or partnership.
Apart from making account verification easier, shouldn’t it make such issue like refund easier?
I made a payment using Paypal, the payment was immediately refunded by the seller. This immediately reflected on my Paypal account, with an accompanying email that this should reflect in my Card’s bank account.
The major question is why would it take ‘ages’ for the fund to reflect in the associated bank account?
OR perhaps, I don’t understand how this internet ‘money’ thing works? I will appreciate experts’ comments.
Even though the seller has issued the refund and it has reflected in your account balance, it has to go through paypal dispute resolution team review before it is moved to your card. It might take as much as 30days but typically it takes 3-5days.
That time is important because it also allows the seller to recover.
What if you bought and then hacked into the seller account to authorize the refund?
I would understand if Paypal sent a mail saying the refund process goes through a dispute resolution team.
However, I got a message with this line in it - “You’ll be happy to know that PayPal immediately processed this transaction and credited the amount to your xxxx MasterCard.”
If that line is true, where could the amount then be hanging?
i had this same issue while i was trying to verify my paypal account, i had a cyprus account which was fine…paypal did their normal verification ritual thing, debit your card and credit it back, ok so back in Nigeria i decided to open a Paypal Nigeria account and the verification ritual stuff again, this time around my money didn’t reflect in my account, i contacted paypal, they said it was from my bank, i still don’t know why our banks in Nigeria are so slow in their processing, my advice follow, up the matter, else you will have to wait more than 30days o…lol…
