Wow! I never knew General Obasanjo (the ebora-owu himself) had a son (Dare Obasanjo) who is a super programmer and a senior programmer at microsoft. I bumped into him when i was doing some findings on the diffs between Java and C# during which i came across one of his (detailed) articles on the subject on his blog C# From a Java Developer's Perspective.
He also has many other interesting articles on the blog too.
Surprise, surprise…
Same here, just realized as I was reading ‘Getting Real’. He was quoted in the book
You have to revisit anyway
The fact is that everyone has scalability issues, no one can deal
with their service going from zero to a few million users without
revisiting almost every aspect of their design and architecture.
-Dare Obasanjo, Microsoft
Many serious tech enthusiasts (in Nigeria) have already come across his work in the past and he was very integral to the development of RSS. However my concern is that he seemingly pays no attention to the Nigerian technology space (i stand to be corrected). If anyone knows where he has contributed in the past or the present, please point me to it.
I have read from him in the past. Like here: http://www.25hoursaday.com/weblog/2012/07/30/OAuth20TheGoodTheBadAndTheUgly.aspx
I had no idea he was related to the fmr President. I thought he was just another Nigerian.
When i first saw his picture i was curious cos he looks so much like his dad, and alas! i was flabbergasted when i actually found out that he was his son. Did u read his interview with bill gates also on his blog?
Yeah… Read of him years back… He is a good dude…
Used to follow his blog back in 2006 - 2010 or thereabouts when I was still primarily developing using Microsoft’s tools. Very interesting guy. His posts get me the same way Jeff Atwood’s does - which is good.
Why is this a concern? Does he owe Nigeria or its technology space anything in particular besides posting on his blog and hoping you’ll read them and feel encouraged to do more?
