Next Nigerian President

Please I want you guys to list the qualities and qualifications you’d want the next Nigerian President to have and how can the tech community can encourage and support such a person to contest and win. I have notice that a lot of time, elections comes and we’re just given options of choosing between Mr Bad A or Mr Worst B… My point is, what if now we youth and techies can kickstart the selection process 2 year earlier, Maybe then encourage such a person to contest and assure him/her of our support.

Ok. Lemme get this. You want people to start nominating candidates for the next presidential elections and it is on radar u decided to start bah.

Oga do u have a startup you want to pitch or a design you need people to constructively criticize? If you do please share.

Otherwise no dey come here come dey show ursef and your Nairaland talent to start unprofitable arguments that we won’t be able to do anything about.

Peace out.

That’s a pseudo plan of using tech to influence politics.
The initial goals are being mapped out and I’m sure the movement could make an impact (no matter how little) in the next elections.

If you’re interested. You can send me your email let me add you to the slack channel

I reckon the tech community in Nigeria today has that much influence to determine the next president, how to go about it is a different tale entirely

@Chris you have the right to your own opinion, but you probably shouldn’t have written anything since this topic doesn’t interest you. Be civil enough nexttime to do that. Thanks

@sensiblefolk, Thanks, I will send you a mail.

Imagine if, as a result of this activism, a candidate with understanding and bias towards tech managed to bubble up. I can’t say it would be bad for the tech/startup community. At the very least it would bring attention to the community. Such a person could do so much to advance the cause of startups in terms of finance/equities/taxes policies. That in itself would be a “good thing”, would it not?

Perhaps presidential candidate would be too much to ask at this time, but what about senator, governor? Of course there’s a lot of hurdles, the biggest one being cash donations to such a candidate at the earlier stages, but overall, we could surprise ourselves.

Funny Nairalanders.

I think this sort of question doesn’t belong here. Truste me, it doesn’t.
