@Ndianabasi you spoke my mind about competition. It is really important you observer what they have so you dont repeat what they have. Users wont go for anything new if nothing is different.

Interesting. I, @OdunEweniyi and a few other people were working on something like this last year. We called it That’s My Spot.

Obviously, if you take your product to its logical conclusion, you will have to allow people book their tickets, reserve seats, and all that jazz. And I do not know that a simple consumer-facing aggregator app will do the trick. You’ll probably have to go round to install yourself as the default ERP for these cinemas. Become a platform (which is what I think Tripican is doing).

This was the point at which That’s My Spot quietly fizzled out. If you ask me, it’s just a lot of work, and I do not know that the (potential) returns are large enough to pour the resources in. I have a feeling @akindolu will agree with me.

P.S. I’ve had a rather…interesting experience booking tickets with Nigerian cinemas, so I (and I suspect a substantial number of people) usually just stumble into the closest cinema and see whatever’s showing soon.

I also don’t know that you’re saving my time. Most people already know the closest cinema to them. That’s the one they check.

That said, like Osarumen said, the returns for Effort is staggeringly disproportionate. But maybe you have better plans.

Why should i go to your app or site when i can check Genesis near my house or area on what movie is showing? i also can book a ticket online there? What then is the USP for your app? Why would a cinema partner you?
