Last year, we started building an outsourcing platform to enable a lot of people with ideas bring them to life without thinking of hiring so much people, and I’m happy we finally have something to show you guys … 99staff.com
What do you think about the service in general? Your feedback is very important, we are launching soon …
Yes Boss … We use your phone number to reach you as our client when your task or project is sent to us. … And it’s also important for your staff to reach you during your project.
Is this a 2 sided marketplace i.e. linking employers (buyers) and skilled people (sellers)?
Or instead you’re positioning yourself to take the tasks from employers and deliver it yourself (irrespective of type of tasks)?
• If no.1, it might be better to have a ‘search’ where people can actually browse and see different professionals.
• If no. 2, it would be preferable to click on the icon of tasks (e.g. ‘Website, software or IT’, ‘mobile’ etc) to get a better understanding before signing up. Of course one can argue that this is a tactic to drive sign ups.
• If no.2, why launch with so many different areas? Looks like you’re throwing a huge net. Maybe narrow focus like how Amazon started with books, before becoming the ‘everything store’ might be appropriate. Just a thought.
• How come your H2 says you’re catering to entrepreneurs, professionals and startups, but you have testimonials from Unionbank and Total? Not doubting the prowess of your soon to be launched firm, but this looks a bit out of message.
• I’m sure you will be adding footer links to returns/refunds, FAQ etc
Thanks a lot Sir.
We are actually using model 2. We receive the client’s task or project directly and then assign it to one of our trained staff/pros.
The cool part is that we manage the entire process from start to finish. We practically track all communications between our staff and clients including all phone calls (which are automatically recorded and saved).
The truth is we’ve been around for a while; just not as “99staff” …
We just want to reach more clients who might be stuck with projects, especially in a time like this in Nigeria.
And yes @PapaOlabode … before I forget, we have reduced the number of categories on the landing page as you suggested (we just hid them for now). We would definitely add all those footer links, including “IP protection”, “Terms” and “Privacy Policy” very soon.
Hello @xolubi,
Thanks for your question. We are actually just getting started. Hence 99staff.
All our services (including PushCV, Piggybank.ng and other services coming soon) are managed by 99staff, this has made us have one of the lowest burn rates for our size. In fact, it’d be good to know that PushCV is now self-sustainable at this point.
Why all these services?
First, all of our services are owned by Sharphire Global Limited, and Sharphire’s goal is “building the future of work” in Africa. We have seen first-hand that there are no Jobs for the average Nigerian youth, even though there are hidden opportunities everywhere (many are even outsourced to foreigners).
We’ve ran PushCV for almost 2 years now, and we have seen that the demand (jobs seekers) is much more than the supply (vacancies), and PushCV can do little about this situation because we can’t create the Jobs.
So that’s what Sharphire (PushCV’s parent company) is trying to do; Sharphire is building various services that would empower the average youth who might not be able to find a “bank” job; to actually earn a living and earn as much using their skills or talents in other areas.
As for the management of these services (right now and in the future), ALL Sharphire services are actually managed by 99staff (over 70% of PushCV is managed by 99staff). It has helped us keep our burn low and made us more efficient.
I get what you mean @papaolabode … As for Piggybank.ng, Sharphire plays the role of “technical and marketing partner”, while our partner bank handles the finances…
So when I mean “management” for Piggybank.ng, it’s basically just technical and marketing.
Definitely @HVO_GMP we will (that’s the whole point of 99staff). For now we want to understand and study how clients use and interact with remote workers, and vice versa (Nigerian professionals can be funny sometimes).
Once we’ve optimized the process, we will open the service gradually to other professionals (hopefully in a couple of months).
hello @somtoifezue i posted a project (Almost 2 weeks now)…that needs a developer and till now non has been assigned to me. What is going on at 99Staff?
