The tech ecosystem is just a scam in one side of the coin and on the side looks like the best industry to be in, tech Startups are dying every month, the only Startups that I can say are doing well are the betting Startups, the rate of surviving a startup is very low the market prefers the silicon valley Startups than locally made ones, I have always said this China did it, Russia also. The best way to solve this is not to say use made in Nigeria internet services no, assuming we had a real government, it is just a matter of banning Google, facebook, Twitter or any western services in our internet space for just 10 years and see if people will not visit naijapals.com or Lindabook.com, or irokotv.com if that exists because they are forced to, it sounds bad but that is the model that made the likes of Tencent, Alibaba group, Baidu Inc, Yandex, Mail.ru become who they are today.

Look at Silicon Valley that we often want to lift ideas from. All big companies patronize each other despite competing with each other.
Apple buys parts from Samsung, Microsoft invested in Apple & sells software to them.
Google is an investor in Uber despite them competing & dragging each other to court.
This behaviour is the norm rather the exception (the reverse being the case over here).
So long as we’ve can’t separate our egos & pettiness from business concerns, we’ll keep arguing over who should do what.

the ceos are busy investing in other businesses to ensure that the heavy investmenst multiply somehow, but their startup isn’t bring that money.

why won’t the start ups fail , when every person in nigeria who happens to be exposed to smart phone is very stupid, and the ones that happen to actually understand tech are even more stupid.

all the money is going to facebook and instagram and snapchat and reddit and youtube and the rest of them , when vender,lindaikejisocial,haskaar,myopinion.ng and so many unheard start ups just start,exhaust the tiny capital they manage to start with and then die off lol, because our stupid nigerians prefer to use the app they feel is the better one, why won’t it be better when they have access to all your attention and life, they have you like it’s a benin charm, you fail to see the ones starting up will only become better if you patronize them enough to raise more revenue,

Nigerians are broke and tech illiterate dont expect lot of activities online.how many 21 years old have up to 50,000 naira in their bank account?,or are even employed.the olders one with the cash are tech illiterate. dont expect magic to happen,even if you advertise them daily,Nigerians still do not have cash for it .online business in Nigeria is luxury

another problem is copy copy and not tweaking for local or african consumers

the americans we copy raised almost 86.6 billion dollars last year while we raise 196 million dollars
