Is there a good viability for a file saving and sharing platform in Nigeria?

That would be cool. I think wireless is a better medium though (adhoc wireless networks and some distribution protocol like bittorrent) because details on chirp as seen here shows we have only 32 characters. Before, I’d thought more was possible, blogged on it here.

I definitely agree with you. Is that your blog? Pretty nice. What do you focus on?

But why would you want to make my private files visible in a general feed?

Kind of like this service, which is shutting down very soon - http://twileshare.com/

That’s if u chose to make the file public/private…

love too… we could work something out…

At this very minute like last year and the years before, there’s no use case for it. I have read about the fancy and nerdy suggestions here but my two pence is don’t burn your energy and time creating a product that’s not gonna be used.

Look at all the problems bedeviling the country and think of solutions. This very minute, these nerdy ideas lofty as they are just wont sail in Nigeria. I am sorry

The take home from my suggestion is that there isn’t any need for another file sharing/storage solution. We don’t have a problem of where to store our data in Nigeria.

I got that much from your comment. The additional suggestion is what i alluded to as i found it interesting. To be honest, the business idea is mute.

we do have but thats not Nigeria current primary problem…Really appreciate ur comments. Thanks.

Really appreciate the whole house for ur comments. Thanks. #FOCUS_+_THINKING

This topic reminds me of this topic. @simply_yomi your idea is a great, it all comes down to creativity and those that will use it. You need be distinct and innovative. You just can’t clone what others have done.

Well, I never thought someone would express such a view over the fancy, lofty and nerdy internet. Let the dreamers dream.

Well, we are all dreamers the difference is the context.

Those who dare to win succeed holding everything (skills, funding, business processes etc) else constant

I think file storage is still viable but you can look at Nigerian twist to it. Moreover, cloud storage is not really a viable business. Even Google (Google Drive) is nearly running at a loss to take on Dropbox, Box and Microsoft and others, because there are many players in the category. Most players are ready to offer nearly 10 gigabyte of storage for free and hope to charge companies who need to use it on the enterprise storage level, so starting it as a B2B, Nigerian specific features might work out fine for you.
Goodluck.

But why Nigeria?

Have you tried researching about the usage of Gdrive and Dropbox in other countries outside the States?

Like Brazil, Russia, Holland.

You do know that you don’t have to create producsts for this market just because you live here
