I am seyi fakoya - lead project of Open Heavens Mobile App, the app is simply a mobile version of the Open Heavens Daily Devotional Book
iOpenHeavens mobile app (www.iopenheavens.com) is a pretty native and has an old school UI with over 300k download across iOS, Android, Windows, Java, BlackBerry and Laptop
Currently working on the new release and I will like the house to give us their opinions on what we can make better
Nice work on the app. I think the UI can be a lot better. This is really important to me, being a church guy and a developer. It seems like many church solutions tend to be a bit unimpressive and I think it’s because they aren’t struggling to get the users. The church members are automatically the users so no pressure. But seeing that we are not struggling to get users or contents, I think the user experience literally the least we can do.
The user experience and the customer service for this app is terrible. Activating the app could be a very frustrating experience after paying for the activation code, they don’t always work. Getting a reply from the customer service could take months for an app that users will like to access daily. I bought the activation codes in 2013 and 2014 and I suffered. I was angered several times before I could get them to work so decided I’ll stick to the book this year.
The basic complaint of most subscribers on play store including myself is related to the activation.
I believe the subscription to this app will increase if the activation can be paid via play store instead of having to reach out to the unresponsive customer service every time I format or change my phone.
@Declan we are so sorry for the frustrations trying to activate the APP. Yes our customer service needs to be automated on this and this we have worked on.
We didn’t make OP a paid app due to multiple installations using a single Google account. Yes we have had a fare share of piracy.
We are however working on a in-app purchase subscription service which allows users to subscribe and automatically re-use their subscriptions in cases of device crash, update or transfer by simply logging into the App with the account they have created on it and they can easily retrieve their password with the normal “forgot password feature”
Again we are grateful for this feedback very vital to us.
