Introducing Glance! (we need feedback)

Hi Guys,

We are currently introducing a new app to the market you can download here and take it for a spin. Its called Glance and the aim is to promote content from all the various content providers in Nigeria by pushing content from them straight to the lock screen of our users as per their interests.

The app is currently work-in-progress but we intend to release early and often so I crave your indulgence if you catch a couple of bugs

I would appreciate very straight and constructive feedback and if you like it

Please share!

Thanks

Did I mention that as you read we reward you with points which you can convert to airtime!!!

Please be constructive.

Bruh, dial it down a bit. He’s just kidding. He means well.

When I hear about ā€œReward Pointsā€ my heart begins to pound. I hope yours isn’t ā€œimpossibleā€ to achieve.

For example, after using Whogohost for over two years and gathering only 250.75 points, tell me which year I will be able to gather up to 5000 points and exchange them for credit?

This is the 3rd such product launched in roughly 12 months. I’d love to ask how Glance is different from MyAds and whatstheotherone’s name.

Sliide Airtime.

Yes, that’s the one! Sliide.

@flygerian Actually, this is focused on content - at some point they’ll be sharing ads. The question is, unlike MyAds, will people get paid when ads show on their screen or will the company keep it all?

Very interesting question. :grinning:
Because Facebook et al compensates us for them Sponsored Ads?

People get paid regardless of whether ads show up on their screen or they interact with the content, that approach is purely experimental. If we run through the numbers and we and they don’t make sense then we will surely change approach. I hope that answers your question?

No its not, at least according to our projections  we are currently working on making sure that our user can cash out the minimum at least every two days. Like I mentioned to @seyiaylor this is purely experimental and this is just an MVP.

Hi @flygerian. On Play Store, there’s ā€˜shutterstock’ and ā€˜123RF’ watermarks all over your background image.

Its temporary. Its a MVP.

I know its not a bug in your code that is being pointed out but here’s a relevant article I read two months ago - https://dev.to/ben/dont-use-mvp-as-an-excuse-to-write-bad-software
