How do you measure your achievements/milestones on the dark days as an entrepreneur, I got the insight to ask this question on radar when I talked with my mum and she worries why my business is not successful yet and it is very hard to measure my achievements and failures so what do you think?
Why do you want to be an entrepreneur? Hope you know you can still be great without being one, right?
Pick a key metric (i.e. not a vanity one) and stick to it. Dedicate yourself to growing it on a fine grained scale (e.g. week on week) as much as you can.
It could be daily sign-ups or something along the lines of engagement. When it drops, understand why it did, and work to mitigate it in the future.
Not picking a metric or not measuring your metric on a scale with a small timeframe encourages laziness, and makes problems hard to spot until you’re already dead. Like for instance, say you measure your growth monthly or quarterly, it is easy to delude yourself into thinking the last week will make up for unflattering figures by some miracle, and by the time you realise you’ve robbed yourself of the opportunity to do something about it earlier, it’s probably too late.
Well, i think setting up Goals and KPIs will help you.
As a Startup 2 important metrics to help you know if youre growing is
-
Daily Sign ups
-
Daily PAID orders
Everything else is secondary, the more people who sign up and USE youre platform the more money you make, if this are slow then it may be due to
a) Youre Product isnt really solving a need hence you need to redefine your target market
b) Market and Brand visibility is low, hence you need to ramp up your marketing using the best creative ways via inbound marketing strategies
c) Clients cant make payment or price scare or Customer experience is painful, hence redefine operational parameters, how you or your staff handle clients, how they pay, how you communicate they paid, delivery and turn around time.
Depends, if you’re failing from all angle then obviously something is wrong. Perhaps, take one step at a time as @xolubi said or start talking to people, always ask for help. You can start by telling us which areas you’re having difficulties
your autocorrect is all sorts of clusterfuck
