How do you handle logistics as a SME?

I’m trying to run a mini e-commerce store and I need a logistics company that could help me out.

I have thought of courier plus - they don’t offer POD
I have thought of ACE - they seem too corporate
I contacted AIGX - no response
I saw CityRun on Techpoint but their site says N750/order which depends on the location

Any one here has any experience working with a courier company that can serve an SME well.

I’m just starting with a few orders and I can’t afford to charge my customers N1000 for deliveries when the big retailers don’t charge that much.

Thoughts?

Hey @Debola glad to know you have heard about Cityrun!

The prices listed on our website are typically for one off orders. From your post you could be considered for a business account with us.

Our business clients have the option to have us receive cash and POS payments on theor behalf (all monies received will be remitted weekly) and also receive daily/ weekly reports (depending on volume).

I would recommend you get in touch with someone on our team. Please send your queries to info@cityrunng.com

Kind regards,

Hi @Debola , try contacting all the companies on your list (as well as suggestions from other Radar users). You’ll need to explain the types of packages you plan to send, as well as projected volumes. Some companies may be able to work out a monthly flat rate that is mutually acceptable to you and them.

What goods will you be selling? Most, if not all of these companies will not offer you a favorable price if you are not pushing numbers, so you might be better off running your shit on your own. If I must say, don’t go with POD option early on, you need your cash flow to be smooth.

Good luck getting any sales whatsoever without POD on a brand new e-commerce platform in Nigeria. As Nigerians, we are built to ‘doubt first, trust later’, I’ll rather suggest he runs a POD option for a while then scrap it later when his site has gained visibility and traction.
