How do I get hold of .ng domain reserved by Nira as premium domain

Yes guys. I searched a domain and the .ng version is not available. I went to nira and saw it in what they call premium domains. I couldn’t find way to make it mind. How do I purchase it. Looks like nira reserved the whole English words

Step 1: Have plenty money
Step 2: Hmm, one sec…

Ran into this situation recently. Can NIRA be accused of domain squatting?

Can FIFA be accused of cheating? :thinking:

Step 3: just have plenty money…

@OP and Everyone.

Premium .ng domain names cost N1,500,000.00 (One million, five hundred thousand naira) to register as at today and renewal for subsequent years will be charged at N750,000.00 (Seven hundred and fifty thousand naira) per year. This charge was and is still a decision of the registry.

Many registrars under the registry including my company have tried so hard to see this reduced, even at least for the renewal fees. All efforts where abortive but we still haven’t lost hope for the future (maybe).

If you find a domain name in the premium list, maybe you should consider an alternative or like the responses above have suggested, “Just have plenty of money to invest on it”. Perhaps, if the business you intend to do can sustain 3/4 of a million per year for domain renewals, then you’d be just fine.

Good luck ya’ll.

At N1.5 million I don’t see the value in investing in a premium domain name if you are a start up. I have learnt that a name alone doesn’t make a business successful. It can actually be a burden and a waste of time sweating over one.
