I am actually a junior web developer who would be going on internship next year. I am studying Mechanical Engineering in one of the premier universities in the country. University of Nigeria to be precise. I can do CSS3
, HTML5
, Javascript
and Nodejs
and most importantly, I have learnt to learn which means I can easily and I am willing to learn new technologies in fast-moving environments. At the moment, I need an internship placement for this summer holiday.
Check out Mesh Advertising and Design Studios, they are at trans-amadi. www.meshadstudios.com
Anywhere in Nigeria? if you can come to Lagos buzz me
Coming to Lagos would be for my six months Industrial training next year. Oga Freshboi I got you guys on my radar.
@O_niran the problem is there are no databases to find out who is available not to talk of visiting them. I did a search round town on Monday but couldn’t find any. The whole place is just littered with oil servicing firms.
@ChukwuEmekaAjah Do you have a portfolio I can look at? You can upload any old or new work to gihtub.io or codepen.
Create the database yourself. Use google, search for companies that fit the profile your are looking for. Look around. Look for company websites in port harcourt, you’ll find out that they are mostly awful looking. Redesign the sites and email the the redesigns. Better still, do same for “web desgign” companies. I got my current job by building a two page demo, that I hosted on gihub.
I am not really active on github but I do have a profile there (github.com/ChukwuEmekaAjah). Most of my projects are on my local machine although there are some projects that I have executed in school.
create a repo called chukwuemekaajah.github.io and build a site within it, then push it.
Ok. I will do just that.
If you have any truble with the git commands just google them.
Hope you know it’s not free?
Hmmm… This is serious!
It is only not free when you make your repositry for the site private. I guess so
This would reduce your search size drastically, @ChukwuEmekaAjah. Most software companies in Nigeria don’t have websites.
Actually, it is free. You only pay for private repositories. On the other hand, he can also use codepen.io
I guess so, actually even a lot of so called “web design” companies don’t have websites.
This whole thing sounds funny but it isn’t funny.
Walk into this guys office http://sypedia.com/ and see what comes out of it. BTW, that site is the new site. About a month ago, it was even more grotesque looking.
