Have you noticed why startups at our incubation hubs are not as successful as startups outside the incubation hubs

I was a developer at one of the hub, last year as a developer i was struggling with my ideas to product using the water fall development process (which i have been struggling with), while i was at the hub, i was assisted by devs using new tools to get the job easier but i was taught by the incubator hubs how to get a crazy co-founder, or how to use agile engineering to iterate the process of customer development with agile development. Well why i use myself as an example is because i saw this and that was why i left the hub to start my startup in my house and sometimes in a Library close to my area, But another thing that made me leave was when comparing some startups at the hub to startups that started from their house/school e.g The jobs startup in the hub to Jobberman, The likes of Nearest locater, e.t.c Well when i ask people at home have you heard about Konga, Jumia, Jobberman they said yes vs startups and early stage companies at the hub. So have you noticed it? or correct me if i am wrong.
