You can check out the rest of the trends here. The favourite MMM also makes an appearance- no surprises there.
Off to start my Tecno business
Side Note for the Techcabal Digest Team (@lordbanks and @SkweiRd and others): It would be cool if you guys made an extension of the digest on radar. That is, an avenue to continue the discussion on the most important or controversial topic of the digest.
Posting every topic in the digest will just clog Radar I assume so the best one is my suggestion. Up to you guys. Keep up the good work anyway.
Hmm. This could be interesting. Thereâs no reason we canât distribute the digest (as a whole) on Radar. Not as separate threads, but as one. The same way Ezra used to (side eye: @xolubi) post Crudcast episodes on here, where they didnât necessarily stick to one topic from beginning to the end.
Now, Iâm wondering if doing that kills the value prop of the digest. That is, âwhy should I give you my email address when I can come on Radar to read everything youâre sending out?â Weâll think about it sha.
True, thereâs no reason why you canât put it as a whole.
Although the danger in that is it would pull people in different directions since there isnât a specific topic allocated to that thread. So no such thing as going off on a tangent or off topic.
I really donât know what the perfect solution is tbh but I know there have been times I wished there was a way for me to see what other people thought about a certain topic.
For example, the whole âanother ridesharing app sagaâ or âthe hike of data tariffsâ or even âretweeting every tweet- since itâs my accountâ haha etc.
(I realise that the simple way for me to do this is start my own topic, but most times I cba plus time)
The recipe trends is very interesting 1). Seems people know how to make our traditional food - they donât ask Google . 2). But when they check for foreign recipes, they like to put âNigerianâ as a prefix. So you have Nigerian spaghetti recipe, Nigerian cupcakes recipe, etc. Technically for SEO purposes, you could put âNigerianâ in front of everything to have a decent chance of being found.
In regards to cross posting from TC daily digest, I agree it has good potential for great conversations in Radar but it will be a tricky one to implement. My feeling is that for any publisher that has multiple platforms (like TC does), the temptation to do stuff like that is high, while the tendency to unintentionally piss off your users is even higher. Itâs worth pointing out quite a few people where not too happy when TC feeds came into Radar directly.
I think the balance is probably to make it easier for anyone reading the digest to share to Radar (like Twitter). Or if whoever writes the digest feels so compelled, share the specific post here as well. Below is also a good observation.
