Food Order Interface Review

This is not the landing page but just the checkout interface so I don’t really need the annoyingly ubiquitous banner carousel/image. Non developers I’ve shown it to say it looks too simple and basic so I’m looking for someone to tell me it looks bland and how to “liven” it up. I’m thinking they mean I should throw in a lot more images in there (and not just have it looking like an API documentation interface) but where?? :worried: :worried: :worried:

No back end scripts have been attached yet so your email or passwords won’t be logged. Attempt login/sign up and try ordering for a meal and checking out. The URL is order.blog.agwconitsha.org

Thank you.

Hyperlink bro

The URL is facebook.com

It really does look like an API documentation page.

Noted. Nevertheless, I do have the strong conviction you missed this part, so for your convenience, I won’t mind posting it again:

:joy: … Thought i was the only one who noticed…
Now on regards the review, @nmeri17 , the color mehn… is just too dull and think it would be cool if you “liven” it up by making use of a better color (Something Catchy and exciting would do). That’s it for now.

SMDH!!! Shay na me find trouble go bring that “API-Documentation” leg come? I should blame myself. I think I stated that this is the order interface and neither requires jank nor mighty images. All the same, from the thread views and the relatively poor report, I have revamped it and added some new stuff aimed at currying favour in your sights. The url remains http://order.blog.agwconitsha.org

I look forward to your responses.

Sorry bro.
As for the interface, it just looks too cluttered to me. It doesn’t look like a food order interface at first sight. Maybe you can take a page from http://verolafoods.com

Pheeew…man! :grimacing: Thanks for trying to help. I could pick a few faults from that Verola design but this thread isn’t about them. Let’s just say I were to replicate their design, the company I’m building this stuff for have a whole lot more to offer than just three meals (like Verola) so that grid view for available meals won’t scale. All the same, I’ll ask them if they like something like the Verola. The only palatable order interface I can find online are http://grubhub.com and http://zomato.com but both are using roughly the same UI so copying the same thing will be a bad idea but if you prefer the design there, it simply means I should ditch those interactive transitions on mine

Or maybe, the “cluttered” is coming from the font type I used for the how it works section. Try using Dev. Tools to change the font to sans-serif and see if it looks “more gooder” . Alternatively, try reducing those circles’ sizes too and see if it looks less cluttered.
Do have a great Sunday.

Really?

Wonderful resources. IMHO you should be crowned TIME Man of the Year.

Done with the final draft. Special thanks to @Yinka and @Diakon for your time. Usage is much the same but if you notice an issue with the “pricing” and won’t mind lending a helping hand, take a look at this bin http://jsbin.com/xeyobo/edit?html,js,output . I am unable to fetch a live list. So that is that. Would love to hear your inputs as usual

What keywords did you use tho? Abi what rock did you search for those links?

I already knew most of those platforms. But a search for food startups should do the trick. You can also find a host of them at AngelList.

I checked the page again. Needless to say there’s a lot that needs to be fixed.

For starters:

  • The text area under the menu item’s image should be shorter. No more than half the image’s height. The background should be white. The add to cart option should utilise increment buttons +/-.

  • Menu items should have the same margins all around.

  • Implement a filter for the items. Even if just a simple one to filter cuisine types or something.

  • For the menu list on the side, increase the margins for the text. Better still, use the same style for items as the larger/main list on the left.

Also, most buttons need more padding and the aspect ratio of some icons are distorted. Do your best to perfect one section before moving on to the next.

That’s all I can muster for now. If you already planned to fix some things I mentioned, good and fine.

Thanks for your input. First of all, what part are you referring to as “menu”? I don’t remember putting any textarea except the checkout form. I doubt that is what you’re referring to as the image for that section is entirely white. Second, I wouldn’t submit a site with distorted icons for review. I have however received horrible feedback from a Firefox user and if that is what you use, then I think I understand the source of your indignation. The menu items on chrome have margins all round. Font family for combination suggestions is the same, just bigger.

I’ll look into the filter ish. I sincerely hope my proposal gets accepted after all this headache tho. But first things first, re-view on chrome so we can be on the same page.

It appears you didn’t get most of what I said. In any case, it would take too much of my time to provide a more concise review. Wish you good luck with your proposal though.

Unfortunately. A screenshot would suffice as I am unable to replicate nor understand what sections you’re referring to.

Thank you.
