I just came across Iyinoluwa Aboyeji’s - of Andela - post that he has just launched a new Fintech startup - http://www.flutterwave.com/

Initially I thought he was crazy when I saw the news about leaving Andela, considering the score/prominence the company just gained, but this explains it.

I think Flutterwave and Paystack will co-exist and succeed together.

Big congrats to @iaboyeji, I once predicted the demise of Interswitch and I guess he is fulfilling that prophecy. (Pay attention to letter in bold.

Don’t forget that interswitch’s current model is partly responsible for the high cost of online payment in Nigeria. I mean the structure it runs along with the banks, NIBBS etc

Another prophecy that I will make to join boss @papaolabode’s, is that a new order of payment will evolve (think bitcoin, stellar etc) that will completely reduce the cost of transaction (big boss @asemota’s long-time desire). This approach will be so radically different from what Interswitch is used to that it will lose it dominance…

on the customer direct front you mean to say? They would still remain very much relevant in the payments processing value chain, only that they are now more comfortable to play behind the scenes than ever before. They make a lot of these things happen.

Has anyone began exploring integration with Flutterwave?
I’m particularly interested in localizing checkout currency in multiple countries across Africa on our platform, however, looking through their API docs, it seems that “Get Paid” is largely functional in only Nigeria currently (while “Pay” is available continentally) … I am missing something?
