Find bugs in Konga's apps, get paid

https://twitter.com/SimShagaya/status/595278891507396610

It’s open season, everyone!

N10k isn’t worth the effort tbh. Though it doesn’t affect me either way because I’m not an iOS/Android dev

It IS cheap compared to what Google and Microsoft will pay you for breaking their stuff, but considering that most software companies around here are so thin-skinned that they would rather hang by a burning noose before they acknowledged bug finders, this could actually be considered innovative.

How can i get a link to the code.?
Are you talking about a code bug or a UI/UX bug?

Does a gripe count as a bug? Because that’s probably all we will have to say about closed source apps.

Just find one first. Complain about the money later. Just find one

That’s sort of twisted. The entire discussion here is about being rewarded for finding one. If @mstuapha doesn’t consider the reward incentive enough, then there is no “just find one first, complain about the money later.”

MOTIVATION is the key… how on earth do you waste your precious time finding a bud (if you have any idea what that means) and earn peanuts? id rather spend the whole week writing the “hello world” program a million times!!.. no pun intended

Or they could just be looking for cheap labour. Forget the apps, I’ve had issues with their website countless times and once when I mentioned it on Twitter, their definitely-thin-skinned engineers started whining in my mentions. Pass.

Hi all,

My name is Joseph and I’m a Konga Engineer, that been said I’m not here officially. Sims’ communication is short and straight to the point as usual but the long form is that if you find bugs that impedes your ability to use the app for its intended purpose in the next 2 weeks then send in evidence to the e-mail address and get paid (yea, it’s small but this is a pilot scheme). @onyeka, @maina. it’s not a dev bug bounty, so you can participate by using the app over the next 2 weeks to make your next purchase and see if you run into any bugs.

Thanks

its clear now…

If it was #1m (impossible, i know) per bug I don’t think we would be having this discourse,

Send a link of the app to my email arthurugochukwu@gmail.com
Also draw up a small doc explaining what constitues a bug.

When a button does not work
When an internal error message is exposed
When its possible to make it do what it’s not suppose to do
…etc

This would go along way.

You are making my point for me. Thanks.

@Okeke_Arthur_Ugochuk I can do better than that, you can download mobile apps from here http://www.konga.com/mobile-apps.

All the items in your list qualifies and anything that stops you from making a purchase qualifies as well. So if you want to make a purchase over the next two weeks, please use the app and look out for bugs.

Sebi it’s just to use the app and find the bug.
