There seem to be a lot of potentials with the Facebook lead generation ads. But I need opinion from those who have used it before. How was the performance & cost? Was the campaign effective? Any pros and cons?

I used it recently to boost awareness of my site https://www.dataplan.ng. It did generate a lot more interest than I’d had prior to the campaign. So that goal was achieved. We don’t sell anything on the site.
In terms of converting that awareness to actual business requires careful planning and nurturing.
Most experts swear by Facebook ads but I think you have to give to receive. Potentially give a lot before you can receive much. In other words, I don’t think this is a quick win. Be prepared for the long haul.
I have been using facebook ad to promote my startup (www.debutch.com), whilst it has increased traffic to my website it has not led to any sales yet. The good thing about facebook ad is that you set your spending budget hence there are not nasty bill surprises. I have paused my facebook ad campaign, I am currently using google adword to see if I can get some sales.
When I say Facebook lead ads, I mean the ads that helps you collect leads(e.g, emails) before sending users to your site. So many Nigerian advertisers spend money on pushing facebook traffic to their sites without collecting emails first. I’m looking for someone who has really experimented with the lead ads and actually collected emails. Maybe we can learn something here.
Yes. I use it for selling one of my softwares. Very cheap bro and makes sense. I use a free pdf guide as the lead magnet and the form redirects them to a thankyou page on my site. I download their details and import to mailerlite and follow up with series of mails I’ve created via mailerlite “automation”. Currently hunting for a very cheap way I can auto-add them to my email lists instead of doing it manually. I created a dedicated Facebook Page for the product though…

Have you considered a Zapier or IFTTT integration for Mailerlite/Facebook?
Facebook’s partnership with Mailchimp will probably solve this problem. But the email automation part will only be possible if you are on paid plan on Mailchimp
Thanks bro. Please can you share some details about cost and performance? Like how much you spent for X amount of emails collected. Also, any pros & cons you may have experienced from your tests?
His case maybe different from yours. You have to test it yourself.
One thing you must know in other to have a successful lead gen campaign, your lead magnet must have loads of values to your target audience.
