I was wondering if we could have Discourse (Radar) used in the comment section of TechCabal so it’s something like coddinghorror.com. I imagine this will help prevent duplication of commentary as I have had to repeat myself at least once in the past here and on the blog.
What do you guys think?
Let’s just say @xolubi beat me to this…
hello @lordbanks I wanted to find out how you histed Discourse on the Cpanel/Linux TC domain or did you use Docker?
Hey @lordbanks, is this still on the roadmap? There’s such a great firehose of content on main TC site, that would have been cool to have it directed into Radar, for discussions. Instead at the moment, you can’t comment on TC & it doesn’t flow into Radar. Basically wasted.
BTW, it appears mandrill integration might be broken in some way as suddenly I’m not receiving notifications of DM to my inbox. Don’t know if anyone has experienced this?

Very interesting. One day, I’ll talk at length about TechCabal content, but this is interesting feedback. That said, the Radar/TC integration we promised is coming. I just can’t put an exact date to it right now.
Re Mandrill integration, nothing is wrong with it, I turned the email updates off because some people were getting too many at some point. Will correct that asap.
Seen on Mandrill.
And in regards to the TC/Radar integration, as it’s still in the works, here’s my free advice - the key attribute should be the ability to choose what sort of content flows through. For instance, Africabeta on payments happened, right. Now that’s golden content ripe for discussion. That should come through. However a sponsored post from GE talking about green issues, might not be that relevant. So should probably remain only on TC.
The flip side to all this is of course the risk of cannibalising TC itself (i.e. no need to visit since all the interesting stuff will surface on Radar) and too much content (deluge of articles not really relevant to Radar community itself).
