Am i the only one thinking like this???
Thank you very much for your question.
As you may have noticed, TechCabal had a downtime last week which lasted for about 24 hours. We’d noticed some performance issues on the site which came to a head by that day.
We had scheduled an overhaul of the site but that had to be brought forward because of a few issues. That was why we took the site down. In restoring it, we decided to return with minimal plugins to ensure that we could get 1/2 decent performance. That was the reason we suspended comments at the time.
The site still has quite a bit work that needs to be done on it. We will revisit the issue of site comments as this continues.
As at today, no one has complained about Radar or the lack of comments on the site. Radar is available to all to discuss stories from across the internet (not just techcabal).
Hope this answers your question
- Why is Radar not a standalone website… why do we have to go through .radar.techcabal.com???
- The possibilty of Radar becoming the Quora of Africa is fast becoming a reality day by day… i searched for radar.com amd it has been bought. will you go the .com.ng or .ng route???
Another good question.
Well, Radar started as an experiment. Where this experiment will end, we’re still not sure. As for domains, let’s see
I think radar has come to stay. I remember early this year searching for techies forum to discuss about a product and i could not get an intelligent answer on nairaland. Nairaland is beautiful and unique in its own right; i like radar experiment because you are sure you are reading stuff from fellow tech guys not just from anybody
