That’s interesting. We just added an Ask button which will be in the next update. The AMA angle is something we’ve been considering since last year. But we see it as a subset of the overall experience. Thanks for the lead.
Hey guys. We just released a new update to our Android app, with Discover and Ask features. There has also been quite a bit of work done on the UI side as well as bug fixes.
And for all iPhone users, the app is coming soon. I already got first dibbs
So head over to the Play store and check out the new update yall. We appreciate/need all the feedback.
i am really liking the podcast thing, amazing idea on that site
@Edi4all Thanks. What has your experience been like so far? On the app? On web?
It’s a thousand time easier to criticize than create.
That’s why critics are never problem solvers, My thing is that the people who say it cannot be done, shouldn’t interrupt the one who is doing it. Cheers
Guys. Here’s my 2kobo.
I think you’re on to something but you might kill it by launching before it’s time.
I’d suggest you take it back to beta and give private access (testing).
The product isn’t ready yet, trust me; except you’re developing for the fun of coding.
THE PRODUCT ISN’T READY FOR PRIMETIME
Get a UI/UX genius on your team.
This product will rise and fall on UX.
There’s just something about listening to a girl’s voice that sparks SOCIAL.
You have to figure your niche.
Twitter is NOW. Hence the push towards live events.
Facebook is Sharing your life and being OPEN.
Orbi…
Hey @ifeanyigbemudu how’s it going? just curious. Are you using the web version or the app? And can you give specific observations that you made while using it?
I like this… how did I never hear about this.
My advice : You should connect with people in the entertainment industry to drive usage and downloads.
We haven’t started making a major push. Even though we have our own thesis, we’re watching how our initial users are using it and getting as much feedback as we can.
@mcshaba There was a yes/no question. I answered. Making unfounded generalizations about my response to a binary question is where you’re wrong. Perhaps take the log of mindless patriotic silliness off your eyes and realize I actually mentioned how the product could thrive in my response.
Also in case you’re wondering, the first time this service was mentioned on Radar, turns out at the end of the day, I was the only one on this forum that had signed up (i.e. actually tried it). The founder sent me an ‘orb’ to state this. That a number of people went the equivalent of “Go Nigeria!!!” on the thread but didn’t bother to sign up was interesting. Perhaps, you should actually use a service (and be able to engage in an intellectual conversation around it) before considering yourself a defender of it, rather than sit on your high horse spewing cliche gibberish.
bro you have something nice here. employ some designers and keep the servers and codebase blazing fast and maybe do some silicon valley kind of hack! You know pied pier ish By the way how do you filter vulgarised words like this idiot called johnsmithmuthersucka with orbit.com/o/aa23c
Very kool idea , I think social logins would help you get more users
Hey guys. We launched our iOS app a couple of months ago. We’ve also incorporated the social login feature and made a lot a UI improvements. We’ve gotten some pretty good feedback so far but Radar is a different beast. So need you guys to jump in and tear it apart. If you are on a mobile device, go to www.orbiapp.com (it’ll redirect you to the appropriate app store). @Tonianni @lordbanks @thesophiabello
I’ve gotten into voicenotes recently, and I absolutely enjoy it, even though sometimes I catch myself trying to talk back to a recording… I think the idea is brill.
Yeah. When you get used to posting voice notes, it kinda gets addictive. Nigeria should be a huge voice note market; we love to talk, we love to argue, and we love banter. China and Brazil, for example, are two markets in which people use voicenotes every day in messengers, so that behavior is not exactly new. There was some research that showed that in China, over a 6 month period, a higher percentage of people used voice notes than text. That for me is mind blowing. I saw your first orb First impressions??
Its an interesting concept. Its like twitter for voice. As a standalone social network I don’t know. But as a platform focused around topics or celebrities you would most def hit pay dirt. Imagine artists or celebrities having a place where they post their voice clips. Politicians, athletes. Or other peoples short comments around issues of national discussion But 9 seconds is too short for audio even though I am sure you are trying to save on bandwidth. Choose the industry standard 10 or 15 second hook.
I would also provide lots of social networking integration with twitter and facebook including sign-in authentication. Also there’s lots of value in rolling out an api so blogs and Web sites can embed audio from orbs in their content.
2 social networking apps based on voice in the same space are; HeyHey and HearMeOut.
You may wanna look them up (if you haven’t) to learn
Please oooo,How do i delete my account cause now i think am done sniffing.
Uhm…what happened to MyOrbi?
I don’t know man. Maybe they tried to focus on the niche and they niche paid them no heed. Maybe they didn’t and preferred to fail silently.
Upon further research, i found this - https://www.orbiapp.com/
