After talking to a number of makers and STEM geeks today, we agreed to start a group, the point of which will be for other makers to meet each other, share what they are working on, help each other out and discuss what’s going on in the global maker space.
I asked on Twitter if people would want into such a group, and the response in the affirmative is quite interesting. So I’ve set it up.
The way it’s setup, anyone can see the group’s activity on Radar. And anyone can join, but they will have to ask the group mods for access. I have designated @oluseyesj as group mod, so direct all access requests to him and/or me via private message. If you’ve noticed that you can’t reply this message, it’s because you haven’t been added to the group, so you really have to PM to get in.
I think the group will make up access requirements as things go along, but for now I think all that’s necessary is that potential joiners show/prove/demonstrate that they are actual makers…not just interested in making/STEM, but have actually built/done stuff in the space.
Looking forward to seeing what happens next.
