I have always been a fan of ‘first day of start, profitable’ as a new startup. But then, we have our differences and what I think can never be what your thoughts would be.
For these past few months, I had seen so many great ideas turned into businesses in Nigeria failed because to them, starting an ecommerce business is the easiest means to turn a profit. But that really is wrong.
After this paragraph, this would appear on several news blogs as news but then, it is an example I am going to site on this day. I monitor atleast three out of ten startups from my end automatically every day and I had so much believe in a business that possibly had folded. I have been checking the portal continuously for the past three weeks but my thoughts seems to be true and Askme is probably out of the business.
I once stated here that Sim Shagaya had something better behind Lyf and mind you, it is the most profitable startup in local listing sector. The platform studied how other businesses in the sector operated and capitalised on their weakness to turn itself a profit. If you don’t know, it is the first locally focused search engine that had incorporated online payment for ticket bookings.
Thumbsup to VConnect for switching focus fully to a marketplace, and it is the best decision taken by Deepankar Rustagi (company’s founder). And with the amount of businesses in their possession, Jumia and Konga better watch their back.
