And Uber ain’t got time for that. Email I got from Uber Lagos.
WAIT POLICY 2.0
Bankole,
In a short space of time Uber has become an integral part of how Lagos moves - our focus is to continue to be the most reliable and safest way to connect with this energetic city. Uber is an on-demand service, this means our low fares, ETAs and reliability are all founded on the principle of the sharing economy. You do not need to book an Uber in advance and in the same principle - neither do you need to keep a driver waiting. Keeping a driver means one less car off the road, lower earnings for a driver and ultimately reduces the reliability that we have come to know and love with Uber.
As part of our commitment to being the most reliable ride in minutes, we have introduced an updated wait policy. In addition to the existing maximum wait time of 30 minutes, fares will now be automatically adjusted for riders who keep a partner waiting for longer than 30 mins on a single trip and charged at ₦2000 for every additional 30 mins period.
