You guys know how much I like apps/websites that answer specific questions like this. Here’s another one, by @moyinoluwa .
I’ll update the thread with the app store link as soon as it drops.
EDIT: Yo @moyinoluwa well done ma. I have some quick feedback. Actually not feedback as much as thoughts…why is it a mobile app and not a webapp? And since it’s an app, will it have notifications? Like daily?
UPDATE: Here’s the link to the Android app - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moyinoluwa.hashtagbringbackourinternet

Thank you
It’s a mobile app because… Android’s the fastest platform to market for me. It was really actually a result of reading your newsletters everyday. I kept seeing your counters and I thought to automate the process. It started as a “Let’s see if this can work” kind of idea and ended up as something I could upload to Google Play.
I wanted to keep it as lean as possible when I started just in case people who truly don’t have internet connection install the app. I didn’t think about notifications before but now that you mention it, I’ll add that to the second release. Please feel free to suggest other features.
EDIT: Daily notifications might be annoying, but I can work around that. Maybe only send notifications when we hit certain milestones (75, 100, 150 days etc etc), and when the ban is finally lifted. Please keep the ideas coming.

Wow, that’s brilliant!
@Fird @Mobi I think we should replace our counter with Moyin’s counter somehow, hmm
Yeah, daily notifications will be much.
New suggestion: A way for users to say what they think about the situation on social media. How it could work would be
- User gets notification that internet has been down for 75 days
- Below the notification is a CTA that encourages them to say what they think/speak up
- If the user touches the CTA, it brings up the sharing menu with social networks buttons, whatsapp, email, etc.
- The sharing option the user selects is pre-populated with a default message, but the message is also pre-highlighted so that the user can discard it if they wish and compose an original message just before the appended metadata.
I don’t know if that made sense.
EDIT: I just noticed the share button after that long rant, lol, but it’s not a particularly obvious call to action…so I guess the suggestion is simply a more obvious call to action.
