Hi folks,
So I was out with an older “uncle” yesterday, & we bumped into his friend who runs a fairly large agro-allied company here in Lagos.
He was like:
“I’ve really been thinking about all this your technology and growth of mobile in Africa, and wondering whether there are any solutions out there for us too to get on the bandwagon or to revolutionise the way we do things in the sector”
I told him I know next to nothing about agric and really don’t play in the space but I’d keep an eye out for something for him.
So if anyone knows of any solid agro-related solutions by anyone in the community, and I’d be more than happy to link them up.
Hi Tunde,
I don’t have any recommendations for the agric sector, but there are a few people who are “into” agriculture on Twitter. They’re not on Radar, so this conversation may have to happen on Twitter.

Good luck!
Great idea Uyai.
Many thanks!
I have always wondered if something like farmlogs can work here : https://farmlogs.com/
Hmm, we just have to invite them…
That looks pretty interesting. I’m thinking it could work, but would require loads of accurate data for it to be any good. Getting good data here (on time) is difficult.
Check out this one too : http://mfarm.co.ke/
Nice one E. Personally I’ve always thought that agric is one of those sectors where true transformative innovations will combine hard & software. Maybe some kind of embedded systems of stuff.
Instead of our typical combos of hardcore developer, designer & marketing or finance person, can you imagine developer + agronomist + designer type combos or something.
Huge efficiencies waiting in agric, but I just feel most of them are not accessible to pure software/web solutions…
Truly lot to be done in Agric. sector. Agriculture is a field practice, unlike other sector that are semi-automatic and you need data feeds. This means hardware plus sofware development. Am an agric. engineer and i look forward to a C++ programmer and a software developer to make a team.
Anyone with interest should indicate.
Many thanks.
