Pretty nice idea and site! Are you able to provide what the pricing structure is or is it on a case-by-case basis?

@Tolu I guess this is a re-launch?

Yay! Thanks, @somtoifezue.

Thank you, thank you!
Yes o, do and apply again. We pay in $$

@jogunjobi thanks! We have the pricing on the site when you request for content. Please check it out.
And in cases where you don’t find what you want, you can request a quote. That’s on a case-by-case basis.

@Diakon we never quite ‘launched’ before this. Although we announced our existence previously, right now we have a living breathing platform where users can sign up and place requests. We didn’t have that.

@tolu I attempted to try out your service but there is one major drawback (maybe it’s just me). After using the form to specify the services/content that I need, the next step was a page for me to make a payment. I’m not sure how how others will see this but requesting (a pretty substantial) payment before any type of response from your team or discussion about job specs seems like jumping the gun a bit for me.

If after discussing with your team, we come to the conclusion that the final bill will be more than the original payment made and I decide not to go ahead with your services, will I get a refund? Based on other services I’ve used in the past, there are usually preliminary discussions with either an account manager or the assigned content writer before any quote is given.

I understand you guys might be doing this in order to weed out unserious ‘lookers’ but I don’t think that arbitrary price quotes and upfront payment without any discussion is the best solution. Maybe a much lower downpayment might work to deter ‘lookers’.

This is super helpful, @jogunjobi. Thanks a lot for the feedback. We’ll definitely take it into consideration.

Our key metric so far has been optimizing for user experience, particularly around reducing client request turnaround time. We went with this after speaking with existing and potential clients who said their #1 pain point was speed, and also after observing how they interacted with our platform. Implementing upfront payment was one way we saw to achieve this, including making the request form succinct yet effective.

Something we missed though is that the reason why clients could identify speed as a pain point is because we had already established a level of trust with them – something that isn’t quite there now that we have a platform with less human interaction. I like your suggestion about the downpayment as a way to addresses your concerns (jumping the gun) and ours (deterring lookers). We’ll look into doing an A/B test on this.

Some major takeaways I see from your comment are for us to get better at building trust and setting expectations. For example, having a page that details the specifications for each request with samples, and also includes pricing, could let clients make more informed decisions.

Will you be open to a quick Skype call to give more detailed feedback? Please let me know. Also, you mentioned some services you use that do preliminary conversations well. Can you please share their URL with me?

Thanks again and keep the feedback coming.
